Major Mechanical Assembly Manager
This technician will run the Major Mechanical Assembly of your TBM: assembling all the large components like the TBM Shields, Cutter Head, TBM back-up and conveyor; getting it ready for the hydraulic and electrical technicians to follow behind and complete the assembly. This task runs best when it starts in the manufacturer’s facility at TBM disassembly. Shipments can be managed and staged for a smooth site assembly, reducing assembly time, and getting your TBM ready for operation on schedule.
TBM Mechanics
These technicians follow the direction of the Assembly Manager: staging major components around the site for simultaneous works, and insuring assembly works are completed correctly and on time for the next step of TBM assembly. Our TBM mechanics can also remain on site during TBM operation to perform preventative maintenance. Some benefits of on-site mechanics include:
-
Preventative maintenance is proven to reduce machine downtime
-
Repair the TBM when breakdowns do occur
-
Ensure your TBM is running at its best
-
Ensure machine availability is at its highest percentile
Hydraulic Technicians
These technicians complete the hydraulic installation for each of the TBM’s systems, ensuring the hosing is done correctly to reduce downtime caused by hydraulic breakdowns, setting up pumps to ensure they are set correctly and operating at the right pressures, and are an asset when it comes time for site acceptance and final commissioning. Making sure your machine is 100% correct before it begins operation is key to the successful completion of your project.
Welders
These technicians are available to over see the welding of the major components for the TBM, like the TBM Shields, Cutter Head, TBM back-up, conveyor system, as well as any fabrication required for TBM assembly or launch, like the thrust frame, and anti-roll mechanism. TBM welders are also key to keeping your TBM running smoothly, making repairs and modifications on the spot as required.
Tunnel Conveyor Mechanics
These technicians are on site to complete the installation of your tunnel conveyor system and commission it to ensure it runs at its best. They can also oversee conveyor belt extensions, prepare, and oversee maintenance programs, and belt tracking programs to reduce downtime due to conveyor breakdowns. As you know, if you cannot remove the muck, you cannot move the TBM. The tunnel conveyor is key to the successful completion your project.
